Mt Titlis - Switzerland

Mt Titlis is one of the most famous mountains in Switzerland and is offered as an optional excursion on some tours staying in Engelberg.

Titlis’ claim to fame is that it has one of only two rotating cable cars in the world (the Second is in Capetown, South Africa). To reach the summit you take a small ski gondola, change into a larger cable car and then into the Titis ‘Rotair’ for the trip to the summit. The Rotair is a rotating cable car that turns itself through a 360 degree view as it climbs towards the summit of the mountain. You have to change cable cars twice before reaching the Rotair and it takes roughly 45 minutes to travel from the valley below up to the summit.

Journey in Jungfraujoch

Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe (Switzerland)

The journey to the Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe, at 3454 metres Europe’s highest altitude railway station, is the highlight of every visit to Switzerland. It offers visitors a high-Alpine wonderworld of ice, snow and rock, which can be marvelled at from vantage terraces, the Aletsch Glacier or in the Ice Palace. On clear days, views extend as far as the Vosges mountains in France and Germany’s Black Forest.
The train journey to the Jungfraujoch through the rock of the Eiger and Mönch is also an incredible experience. Visitors can enjoy stunning views from two intermediate stations, the Eigerwand (Eiger Wall) and Eismeer (Sea of Ice).

As with all mountains in Switzerland however, Mt Titlis is all about the views. The Swiss Alps are simply breathtaking and to even try to but their beauty and scenery into words does not even come close to doing them justice. Even people from spectacular alpine areas like Canada and New Zealand agree.

Grindelwald Switzerland

Grindelwald is among one of Europe's oldest mountain resorts and lies in a valley situated in the beautiful Bernese Oberland on the northern side of the Alps. Grindelwald is surrounded by the spectacular mountain trio "Eiger, Mönch & Jungfrau" and the small town looks back on a long standing tradition in tourism. It combines a foreground full of country charm - fields planted with fruit trees or maples and dotted with pretty dwellings - with a grand rocky barrier stretching from the shoulder of the Wetterhorn to the pyramid of the Eiger.
On one hand are the high mountains, a playground for mountaineers or skilled skiers; on the other, between the Grosse and Kleine Scheidegg ridges, with the woods perfectly suited to cross-country skiing.

Grindelwald, the glacier village, is the only great mountain resort in the Jungfrau area

EuroTrip Part 5 Geneva Switzerland

The Parc des Bastions is perhaps best known for its enormous outdoor chessboards, and locals regularly come here for a game, often watched by crowds of spectators. Many local celebrations and festivities take place year, often based around the onsite Town Hall, appealing to residents and tourists alike.
Geneva gardens open: daily
Geneva gardens admission: free

Wooded areas, natural scenery, parks and established gardens are all fairly commonplace in the Geneva area and some of the most popular even offer spectacular views across Lake Geneva itself. Close to the city, the Conservatoire et Jardin Botaniques is worth finding if you have the time and boasts an extraordinary array of plant and animal species, along with a leading research centre, library and herbarium.

On the Place des Nations, the broad plaza in front of the UN main entrance, is the 39 foot tall (12 meters) Three Legged Chair. The lost leg symbolizes what so many anti-personnel land mine and cluster bomb victims suffer.  The chair was the brainchild of Paul Vermeulen, Director of Handicap International. The broken leg is intended as a daily reminder to UN staff who use the main entrance to urge their governments to take action to help victims and avoid similar injuries in the future.
Just across the three legged chair is the United Nations headquarters in Geneva Switzerland.

EuroTrip Part 3 - Inside & Outside Louvre Museum Paris France

Part of the europe trip was on France which after Switzerland.  So we began the journey at Italy then Switzerland and finally France .
On our 4 days 2 nights in Paris we visited the famous Louvre museum. As museums go, the Louvre in Paris is quite simply a mammoth. The word "museum" may even be unfitting when it comes to the Louvre: the collections are so vast, diverse, and breathtaking that visitors may have the impression of navigating a maze of distinct artistic and cultural worlds.
Everything was breath taking inside and outside the Louvre. Below are photos we took in Louvre.
